After being delayed by the storm, Sean Penn earned a standing ovation from some audience members when he arrived during the Q-and-A after the Saturday evening screening of "This Must Be The Place."
The Oscar-winning actor, looking a little like an aging Edward Scissorhands, sounding a little like Mister Rogers, and acting a little like Ozzy Osbourne, stars as the decidedly quirky Cheyenne, the aging former lead singer of a goth rock band.
Eve Hewson co-stars as Cheyenne's young friend. At the screening, Hewson said she didn't really see any similarities between Cheynne and her real-life father, Bono of U2.
Taking questions from the media, the young actor was open and patient. She didn't even flinch when one member of the media asked: "Have you ever been to Dublin?
"Working with Penn was "a little scary," she said. "When I got the part, I watched all his movies. All of them, going back to 'Bad Boys.' So I was trying to do my homework. But when I met him, he was great. I think we had a good working relationship."
She said Penn didn't need any advice from her about playing an aging rocker. "I think he's got it down. He knows what to do. I wouldn't say my dad is anything like this character. Very, very different."
Penn wasn't the only Oscar winner in the cast. "I looked at the call sheet and my name was smack in the middle of Frances McDormand and Sean Penn and it was, like, 'How is this happening? This is unreal.' It was very intimidating. I saved the call sheet."
