Feb. 7 • Torchbearers carry the flame along the Wasatch Back, down Emigration Canyon and into downtown Salt Lake City on the final day of its 65-day journey, with the help of a stagecoach and a steam train. By the time the flame lights the cauldron at Rice-Eccles Stadium to commence the 2002 Salt Lake Olympics, it will have been passed between some 12,012 torchbearers through 46 of the 50 United States.
