Pop On Over Cafe and Deli, which specializes in light and airy New York-style popovers, is open at 1098 W. South Jordan Parkway, South Jordan.
The popovers come in several different flavors, including plain, cinnamon sugar, garlic, onion, Asiago cheese and whole wheat, said owner Johnny Martin, a native of New York.
The popovers are used as the base for sandwiches made with turkey, ham and beef roasted on site each day. There also are breakfast popovers on the menu. Soup, pizza, super-size calzones, Kobe beef hot dogs deviled eggs and chocolate covered bacon also are available. Prices range from $5-$7.
Adventurous diners can attempt one of several food challenges the Cafe offers including 12 super-hot deviled eggs, a five-pound meat sandwich or the spicy pizza challenge.
Government and city employees get a 10 percent discount withe valid identification.
