The weekend forecast for northern Utah calls for overcast skies, periodic valley rains and mountain snow showers.
High temperatures for the region will be around 50 degrees Saturday, with overnight lows this weekend in the low-30s.
The National Weather Service predicts increasing cloud cover and afternoon rain for southern Utah Saturday with highs in the 60s and lows in the upper-30s.
The Utah Avalanche Center graded mountain slopes near Ogden, Salt Lake City, the western Uintas, Provo and Moab at "orange," or considerable risk for potentially dangerous snow slides, while the Logan area earned a "yellow," or moderate avalanche risk ranking.
Air quality into the weekend was expected to fall within the "green," or satisfactory rating.
Salt Lake City looked for a Saturday high temperature of 49, mirroring the prediction for Friday; Ogden expected 47 and 46 degrees; Provo 51 and 50; Logan 42 and 41; Wendover 44 and 46; Duchesne 44 and 46; Cedar City 55 and 56; St. George 64 and 66; and Moab 53 and 50 degrees.
