SaltCon promises to keep gamers off the streets this weekend by giving them a place to play all night long.

The convention, which promises to "bring the flavor back to gaming," runs from 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 17, through midnight on Saturday, Feb. 18. And games will be running all 38 hours.

And the event isn't just for your typical LARPers. It's designed for both competitive and casual gamers.

Families are not only welcome, but concierges will be there to match them up with the right games — and learn to play them for experts.

SaltCon, which takes place at the Royal Garden Inn (154 W. 600 South, Salt Lake City) will feature a game library; tournaments (staggered over the two days so you can play them all); and the winners of the ION Award — given to those who created the best new, unpublished games — will be announced.

Scheduled games include Dungeons and Dragons, Pastiche International Edition, Pizza Theory, The Road to Canterbury, Castle Dash, Crow and the Pitcher, PathFinder, Arkham Horror, Karnaxis, Sport It, Quarriors andMasters of Commerce.
