For the first time since 2007, Salt Lake City's St. Patrick's Day Parade will actually be on St. Patrick's Day. That's because for the first time in five years, St. Patrick's Day falls on a Saturday.
But there's more to the local celebrations than just the parade, which returns to The Gateway this year. There are a variety of events from Orem to Ogden, featuring music and dancing, food and even the occasional green beer.
Get Lucky 2012
The eighth annual St. Patty's Day Massive at Saltair features performances by Sidney Samson, Christopher Lawrence and MSTRKRFT. Must be 16+ to attend; ID is required.

St. Patrick's Day Festival
Join the Murray symphony, the band Celtic Mist, and the Utah Irish Dancers for an evening of Irish music, including "Irish Washerwoman," "Danny Boy" and "Lord of the Dance."

Celtic Celebration
Ogden's Peery's Egyptian Theater will feature Irish music, dancing and green beer, with music from Celtic Beat and Idlewild. All seats are reserved.

St. Patrick's Day: Swagger
Swagger will headline a concert at The Depot, with a lineup that includes Slaymaker Hill, The Wailing O'Sheas, the Heathen Highlanders and the Rocky Mountain Irish Dancers. Irish food will be available from 5-9 p.m.

St. Patrick's Day Parade
The parade begins at 10 a.m. and the route is the same as it was in 2011 through The Gateway. "St. Patrick, Bless the American Worker" is the theme for this year's observance of the annual festivities celebrating the Feast of St. Patrick, Ireland's patron saint.

St. Patrick's Day Siamsa
After the parade is over, the Gateway will host a six-hour Celtic Festival of traditional Irish music and dance featuring Jim O the Mills from Tipperary, Ireland, Irish dance by Utah dance troupes, and music by Utah bands An Rogaire Dubh, Red Branch, Bad Colleen and The Republican Pub Session Players.
