Funeral services for Dave Hrechkosy, a former National Hockey League player who spent parts of three seasons with the Salt Lake Golden Eagles, will be held Tuesday.

Hrechkosy died Wednesday of brain cancer. He was 60 years old.

A viewing is scheduled Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Starks Funeral Home in Salt Lake City. Funeral services are scheduled for Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church in Sandy.

In 1974-75, Hrechkosy scored 29 goals and had 14 assists for the California Golden Seals. He finished second in the NHL Rookie of the Year voting behind Eric Vail of the Atlanta Flames.

Hrechkosy eventually played in 140 games for California and the St. Louis Blues. He finished a nine-year NHL career with 42 goals and 66 points.

Hrechkosy retired from professional hockey in 1979 and took a job with Coca-Cola in Salt Lake, where he worked for 18 years.

Hrechkosy then became the director of concessions at the University of Utah before taking a similar job at Texas A&M in 2004.

He served a two-year term as president of the National Association of Collegiate Concessionaires before retiring last January.
