Combine your love of food with a trip to either Italy or South Africa, by participating in one of these two new travel programs available in Salt Lake City.

Here are the details:

Italy • The University of Utah is offering a new "study abroad program for adults." Travel to Rome and Umbria May 5-15 with Giuliana Marple, a U. faculty member and Italian expert. Prior to the trip, participants will attend pre-departure classes to learn about Italian history, cuisine, and to get to know travel companions. Pre-departure classes run April 5 –21. To register or for more information, call 801-581-6980 or visit golearn.utah.edu.

Africa • Salt Lake residents William Swanepoel, of Extraordinary Life Travel, and Stormy Sweitzer, of Maoomba.com, will lead a food, wine, and safari experience along South Africa's Garden Route and Route 62, Oct. 14-27. An open house to learn more about the trip will be held Thursday, March 22, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Architectural Nexus Community Room, 2505 Parleys Way. If you plan to attend, RSVP to 801-448-6718.
