Teen-ager Nico Muniz scored to lead the RSL reserves to a 1-1 draw with the Sporting KC reserves at American First Field in Sandy today, but the bigger news was probably the progress of a trio of recovering first-team regulars.Forward Alvaro Saborio played the full 90 minutes, while defender Nat Borchers went 65 — his longest game action yet, since offseason knee surgery — and midfielder Will Johnson played 45 in his first action since undergoing sports hernia surgery earlier this month in Germany.Midfielder Javier Morales was scheduled to play, team officials said, but was called to the hospital where his wife was expected to deliver their second son at any time.Coach Jason Kreis said most of the regulars could be available to play against Chivas USA at Rio Tinto Stadium on Saturday, but that the important thing will be learning how they respond and recover to playing today. Johnson is the one guy among them not expected to play, since he needs a little more time to fully heal.
