More than 1,000 athletes competed Saturday at the 43rd Special Olympics summer games at Herriman High School.

Athletes and coaches were joined by more than 2,000 volunteers and 150 law enforcement officers.

This year's theme was, "Where Spirit Inspires Greatness."
