'Of Meat & Marrow'

This afternoon's performance of SB Dance's "Of Meat and Marrow" will conclude the run. The dance is billed as a "juicy, nose-to-tail look at these little corpses we carry around" and features performers Liberty Valentine, Juan Carlos Claudio, Nathan Shaw, Jenny Larsen, Christine Hasegawa, Ursula Perry and Toni Lugo, with guest actor Brenda Sue Cowley. For mature audiences; program includes some nudity.

'Daughters of Mudson'

Curated by New York improviser Ishmael Houston-Jones, the "Daughters of Mudson" performance will feature dances by female choreographers Leah Nelson, Kitty Sailer, Rachael Shaw, Emily Haygeman and Ashley Anderson from Movement Forum.

American dance

"Joffrey: Mavericks of American Dance," a documentary about the revolutionary Joffrey Ballet. Adam Sklute, artistic director of Ballet West and former associate artistic director at Joffrey, will talk in person after the screening. Presented by Utah Film Center and Ballet West.

Repertory Dance Theatre Summerdance

Repertory Dance Theatre's offers an in-depth dance workshop with teacher and choreographer Susan Hadley, a former principal dancer with Mark Morris and Meredith Monk and former rehearsal director of White Oak Project, and currently a dance professor at Ohio State University. Participants will learn modern dance technique, improvisation and composition from Hadley, as well as learning one of her works, "Commonplace," alongside RDT dancers as they prepare for the 2012-13 season.

RDT offers you 8 seconds of fame

Each day at the Utah Arts Festival, Repertory Dance Theatre will film willing participants performing 8-second movement phrases, anything from a walk across the stage to eight consecutive pirouettes. This film will be developed into a new piece of choreography that will premiere as part of "Embark," a dance concert that will be part of RDT's 47th season on Oct. 4-6.

Intro to Aerial Dance

Choreography Festival

Imagine Ballet Theatre will hold its second annual Rocky Mountain Choreography Festival, open to amateur and professional choreographers. The winning choreographer's grand prize will include theater rental and crew for a performance night in October 2013.
