Dia Frampton returns to her roots as she returns to Salt Lake City on Tuesday to perform at The Complex.

The St. George native spent seven seasons trying to build a career as part of the band Meg & Dia, but never really broke through. That is until 2011, when Frampton finished second on the NBC singing competition "The Voice."

It wasn't exactly the career path the indie rocker intended to take, but she agreed to audition to get her friend to shut up about it.

"It sounded weird, but I didn't really know what he was talking about," Frampton said. "So I was, like, 'OK, whatever. If you'll stop talking about it, I'll go try out.'"

After finishing second, Frampton started touring again — this time as a solo act.

She'll be at The Complex on Tuesday at 7 p.m. Tickets are $16 in advance and $20 the day of the show. —
