Uinta to offer beer in a can

Uinta Brewing Co. has adopting a "can brew" attitude.

Next month, the 20-year-old Salt Lake City brewery will break ground on a second production plant that will include equipment for putting beer in aluminum cans.

The new plant will be located just south of the existing brewery at 1722 S. Fremont Dr.

According to a company news release, the 34,000 square foot facility also will house packaging equipment, cold storage, a second lab, an employee tasting room and additional office space. The project is expected to be completed in early 2013.

Uinta officials have not yet decided which brands will be put into aluminmum cans, but if you've got a preference, post a comment on their Facebook page
