Pathway Associates, a Salt Lake City consulting firm providing services to the nonprofit community, has announced that Christine Sharer has joined its team of consultants and will be helping organizations achieve sustainability. Sharer retired in January after 21 years as CEO of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Utah.

The National Academies of Emergency Dispatch has hired Amber Kiker as an administrator of instructor services.  Previously, Kiker held the positions of senior lead agent at CVS/Caremark, prior-authorization tech at Coventry and accounts-payable representative at J.C. Penney. She received her pharmacy technician certification from Eagle Gate College.

Matthew Clark, vice president of financial services at Mountain America Credit Union, has been named one of the top 20 investment program managers in the country by Bank Investment Consultant magazine. The 2012 list recognizes managers of bank- and credit union-based investment adviser groups with the highest average productivity across the industry.

United Way of Salt Lake recently honored Tom Love of Love Communications as its Compassionate Leader of the Year at its annual Celebration of Service luncheon. Paula Green Johnson, a founding member of United Way of Salt Lake's Women's Philanthropic Network, was honored as Outstanding Volunteer. JP Morgan Chase received the President's Award for Excellence and Comcast the Outstanding Corporate Partner award.

Satori Construction announced it has hired Michael Johnson as its new CEO. Johnson is the former executive director of the Utah Hotel & Lodging Association. He will help strengthen Satori's expertise in hotel renovation and construction.

Durham Jones & Pinegar has hired Alec McGinn as an associate attorney in the firm's Salt Lake City office. McGinn is a registered patent attorney, and he will provide patent prosecution and litigation services.

Axiom Financial, a local full-service mortgage company, announced it has appointed Caleb Jeppsen as its director of banking operations. He will oversee secondary marketing, closing, funding and post-closing operations.

Otolaryngologist Douglas Anderson and physician assistant Colby Mitchell have joined the Ogden Clinic. Anderson has practiced otolaryngology in Ogden as an independent physician since 1995. Mitchell joined Anderson's practice in 2003.

Alliance Health Networks has hired data analytics expert and former Evri chief technical officer Deep Dhillon as the company's chief data scientist. Dhillon is a recognized expert in natural language processing and will lead the company's efforts in analyzing and integrating massive amounts of health research.

Ballard Spahr announced that eight attorneys in its Salt Lake City office have been listed in the 2012 edition of Chambers USA: America's Leading Lawyers for Business. The firm also was named a leader in Utah in the areas of real estate and corporate/mergers and acquistions. The attorneys are Elisabeth R. Blattner-Thompson, labor and employment; P. Christian Anderson, Barbara Bagnasacco and David R. Rudd, corporate/mergers and acquisitions; Thomas G. Bennett, Nicole C. Evans and Steven D. Peterson, real estate; and Mark R. Gaylord, general and commercial litigation.

Wells Fargo Insurance Services USA Inc. of Salt Lake City has announced that David Headden has been named managing director of its Utah offices. He is an insurance professional with more than 25 years of experience.

A University of Utah assistant professor of human genetics who studies the evolutionary conflicts that arise between animal cells and pathogens has been named a 2012 Pew Scholar in the biomedical sciences. Nels C. Elde was one of 22 scientists nationwide to receive the honor. The scholarship comes with an award of $240,000 ($60,000 annually for four years) for Elde to pursue his research.
