Here is an update on Noah Masse, the young son of local musician and attorney Mike Masse. The father uploaded a video of himself singing "Let It Be" and it received more than 180,000 views in just three weeks, and even topped the singles charts in the Netherlands. (See attached screen shot.)
From Mike: Noah has completed the first round of chemo, and is recovering between rounds. Today they'll harvest and freeze his stem cells, in preparation for a future round of chemo which will destroy his bone marrow cells. These harvested cells will then be used to "rescue" and restore his marrow. They call it a "transplant", even though they're using his own cells. He's been feeling better the past few days, with lots of smiles and giggles and peek-a-boo. We still struggle with feeding him by mouth, because he doesn't seem to enjoy eating much right now. But the hospital staff has repeatedly commented on how well he's doing compared to what they're used to seeing from a child in his situation. I attribute that to the diligence and determination of my wife, trying to do everything she can to help him get nutrition and sleep, as well as the thousands of prayers from people all over the world who have been touched by Noah's story ... We've had over 4,200 donations via the PayPal link, for which we're grateful. Based on our insurance situation, we're still trying to raise more donations, so it's still an ongoing effort.
