Iron County residents are bracing for more rain that could further damage homes.
Friday's storm flooded up to 60 homes in the county. Enoch police Sgt. Mike Berg said officials have spent Saturday trying to figure out just how extensive Friday's flood damage was.
Berg said two families have been displaced by the flood after basement flooding affected the electrical system in their homes.
While volunteers and city workers attempt to clean up the damage from Friday's storm, Berg said they were also working to fill sand bags and clear ditches in anticipation for more rain this weekend.
"The community has come together today, and have been going crazy with sand bags," Berg said Saturday afternoon.
On Friday, Enoch was hit with more than 2 inches of rain and the eastern part of Cedar City saw up to 1 1/2 inches in under an hour.
The water rushed down the foothills to the east and into the lowest points in the city, Berg said. The heaviest flooding was concentrated on the east side of the city near Interstate 15, where the flood control outlets are. Residents reported 3 to 4 feet of water at the worst, mostly in basements, Berg said.
