David Kohan and Max Mutchnick, the creators of "Will & Grace," have come up with a new sitcom - Partners (7:30 p.m., CBS/Ch. 2), which they claim is based on their own life. The fact that it seems a huge rip-off of the 1996 sitcom "Partners" is just a coincidence.
And, apparently, their lives are just filled with somewhat offensive stereotypes.
At any rate, this "Partners" is about longtime friends/business partners Joe (David Krumholtz, "Numb3rs") and Louis (Michael Urie, "Ugly Betty) - the former straight, the latter gay. In the premiere, Joe gets engaged to Ali (Sophia Bush. "One Tree Hill"), which changes the dynamic between him and Louis. Although Louis has a boyfriend, Wyatt (Brandon Routh, "Superman Returns").
There are some laughs in the pilot, and the cast is very likable. But Kohan and Mutchnick quickly run out of ideas - Episode 2 is a hot mess.
