I really like New Girl (8 p.m., Fox/Ch. 13) a lot, but there's one thing about the show that drives me crazy. One thing that's horrifically distracting.

So let me distract you, too.

Jess (Zooey Deschanel) wears eyeglasses with thick frames. Well, eyeglasses wouldn't exactly be the correct term, because there's no glass in the frames. She just wears thick frames.

Clearly, this is because they don't want to have to deal with reflections on the lenses. But there are reflections on the frames in just about every scene. And that draws attention to the fact that there's no glass in those glasses.

At the very least, how about frames with a flat finish?

In tonight's episode of "New Girl," Nick keeps pranking Schmidt. Try to ignore what I just told you and enjoy the episodes. Just try.
