Timpanogos Cave National Monument in American Fork Canyon will close for the 2012 season on Sunday and will end the year with a party celebrating the coming of the monument's 90th anniversary in 2013.

Cake and other activities will be held throughout the day at the visitors center. Cave tours will be held Sunday starting at 8 a.m. with the last hike to the caves at 3:20 p.m. The visitors center closes at 4:30 p.m. Cave tickets can be purchased on the park's website — $7 for adults, $5 for juniors (ages 6-15), $3 for children (3-5) and ages 2 and under are free.

Tours are limited to 16 participants per tour. Visitors must make a moderately strenuous 1½-mile hike 1,000 feet up the mountain to the cave entrance.
