Two Utah businesses delivered much-needed help to the Utah Food Bank on Friday, in time for the usual seasonal spike in demand from hungry residents.
Snowbird Ski Resort passed on 7,858 pounds of food as part of its program of providing customers with free tram rides in exchange for food donations. One of the pallets of food is being lifted to go along with the other five boxes of donated food, seen here.
The resort also made financial contribution of $4,261 raised for Wasatch Adaptive Sports.
America First Credit Union, meanwhile, celebrated the successful completion of its eighth annual food drive with delivery of 400 turkeys from the Harmons Grocery in Roy and several pallets of non-perishable supplies at the credit union's Riverdale campus warehouse.
Food was donated by members, employees and the public during the past month at 103 AFCU branches and its headquarters.
Administrators from Utah Food Bank encourage donations from the public and area as a seasonal surge in demand approaches with the holidays and wintry weather.
