Logan • A see-saw contest turned into a battle at the free-throw line, and the Utah State basketball team was able to prevail with a 65-55 win over Weber State on Saturday night at the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum.

The Aggies took advantage of a foul-happy Wildcats squad, going 22-for-32 from the free throw line to eke out a victory in a game with dozens of lead changes.

The team was led by a 17-point effort from shooting guard Preston Medlin, who rounded out the stat sheet with nine rebounds and four assists. Medlin was the go-to charity stripe performer as the Aggies drew out the lead at the finish, going 8-for-12 from the line.

Center Jarred Shaw had his second double-double for Utah State, getting 16 points and 12 rebounds. Backup forward Ben Clifford also chipped in 11 for the Aggies. —
