Out-of-town guests — and curious locals — can get a taste of the Utah food scene through a walking tour of local food establishments.

Christa Reid said she and a partner decided to start their Savor Salt Lake walking tour business, after taking culinary tours in other cities. "We decided that our own home town need to be showcased,"she said.

Savor Salt Lake's initial walking tour includes stops in seven downtown shops: The Lion House, Maxwell's East Coast Eatery, Market Street Grill, Squatters, Bruges Waffles, Caputos and Carlucci's Bakery. If all goes well, the company hopes to add walking food tours of Sugarhouse and Park City, said Reid.

Currently, tours are available this Friday and Saturday, Nov. 30 and Dec. 1; as well as Dec. 7 and 8; and Dec. 14 and 15. All tours start at 11 a.m. and last about three hours. They cost $45 per person and include enough samples for a satisfying lunch.
