Utah's unseasonably warm late-autumn weather is about to take a turn for a more normal forecast with mid-week rain expected ahead of a winter-like weekend storm.
The National Weather Service predicts northern Utah's low temperatures Wednesday, under increasingly cloudy skies, will range in the low- to mid-50s with overnight lows near 40 degrees. Wednesday night is expected to bring valley rainfall and snow to the mountains — a trend that will deepen on Thursday, with temperatures dipping several degrees.
On Saturday, a storm front is expected to bring snow to both the mountains and the valleys of the Wasatch Front.
Southern Utahns, too, will see increasing cloud cover through Wednesday with highs in the upper-60s retreating to the mid-60s on Thursday.
Air quality through the mid-week was rated at "Green," or healthy statewide, according to the Utah Division of Air Quality.
Salt Lake City's high temperature Wednesday is pegged at 54, down from Tuesday's forecast for 55 degrees; Ogden looks for 50 and 49 degrees, respectively; Provo 55 and 56; Logan 48 and 47; Wendover 50 and 47; Duchesne 49 both days; Cedar City 61 and 60; St. George 67s; and Moab 61 and 58 degrees.
