The bad news is, The Eating Establishment, at least during the Sundance Film Festival, is no longer there on Main Street in Park City.

The good news is that in its palce is the Morningstar Cafe, an eatery that for the duration of the festival is serving vegetarian burgers, chili and other veggie items for FREE. To everyone. I wasn't even wearing my press credential. They also provide free soft drinks. (Beer is $5, but hey, this is Utah.)

The eatery will be serving free food and drinks from 10 a.m. to midnight EVERY NIGHT OF THE FESTIVAL. And you don't need a password to get in.

I tried out a Diet Coke and a black-and-blue "Griller" that mimcs (quite well) of reaf beef, servred on my choice of white bread of whole wheat. Not bad, not bad at all. My only fear is that come Saturday, the line will stretch around the block and others' patience. But for now, on the first day of the fest, the lines are relatively short, so get 'em while the getting is good.

If you are new to Park City, the place is generally across the street from the Egyptian Theatre.
