Justin Seymour - a freshman shooting guard from Georgia - will leave the program and transfer, The Salt Lake Tribune has learned.

Seymour made a reputation this season as an athletic guard with one of the better outside shots on the team. While he didn't play much towards the end of the year, he was thought to be a cornerstone of Utah's future in Larry Krystkowiak's rebuilding process.

However, Seymour and Krystkowiak met on Monday. The decision was made mutually on Tuesday afternoon, a source told The Tribune.

Seymour's best game this season was his first, a 16 point, six rebound, three assist performance against Willamette. He had other standout games, including a 14 point effort against Stanford. He scored in double-figures four times over the course of the year.

Seymour would mark the first transfer for the program this year. Jason Washburn, Cedric Martin and Jarred DuBois were all seniors from a team that finished the season 15-18 and won two games in the Pac-12 Tournament.
