Firefighters in Uintah County on Sunday contained three fires that ignited the day before.
Authorities said the last fire, reported near Randlett, southwest of Vernal, had been contained though firefighters were expected to remain at the scene Sunday morning mopping up.
Fire investigators said the blaze was caused by individuals who were "ditch-burning." Firefighters were still trying to determine how many acres burned.
Two other fires — the Hayden and Easter Eve — were sparked by controlled burns that got out of hand on private land after high winds moved through the Uinta Basin. Both had been extinguished by Saturday night. The Hayden Fire burned more than 350 acres of brush and grass west of Vernal. The Easter Eve Fire burned about 9 acres to the south near Horseshoe Bend along the Green River.
No one was injured and no structures were damaged.
