Police were looking for a hit-and-run driver who critically injured a woman bicyclist Tuesday morning in Millcreek.
Unified Police Lt. Justin Hoyal said the incident occurred at 8:07 a.m. near 3700 South and 2300 East. The 43-year-old victim was riding her bike on 2300 East along the west shoulder when a southbound 2001-2003 model Acura TL sedan, either white or light gray, drifted off the road and struck her.
The driver then sped away from the scene southbound. At 2300 East and 3900 South, he cut through the parking lot of a Fresh Market store and had a near-miss with another vehicle. The suspect then proceeded north on 2300 East and made a right turn onto Arnett Drive.
After that, there were no reported sightings of the suspect vehicle, which sustained extensive damage to its windshield as well as the passenger-side front fender, Hoyal said.
UPD released photographs of the car, recovered from Fresh Market security cameras, in hopes the public may recognize it.
The bicyclist was transported to Intermountain Medical Center, where she remained in critical condition with severe head injuries Tuesday night.
