Caleb Swanigan is heading home.
The 6-foot-8, 275-pound center and five-star recruit who grew up in Utah before moving to Indiana, informed The Salt Lake Tribune on Thursday morning he plans to attend East High School upon his return to the Beehive State.
East boys' basketball coach Skip Lowe said he hasn't been notified by Swanigan or any other parties regarding Swanigan's possible enrollment.
"Right now, I don't know," Lowe said. "I've just heard rumors."
Kevin Dustin, associate director at the Utah High School Activities Association, said the UHSAA hasn't received anything from Swanigan's end on possible transfer or relocation process.
In a tweet posted Wednesday, Swanigan said: "Want to thank everyone and anyone that has been there for me during my stay in Indiana but in the next few days I will be returning home."
As a nationally touted sophomore in the Class of 2016, Swanigan holds offers from basketball powerhouses such as Georgetown, Illinois, Michigan State and Tennessee. He spent his freshman season playing at Homestead High School in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Swanigan is the younger brother of former Hunter High School star Carl Swanigan, who led the Hunter Wolverines to the 2004 Class 5A state championship and was named The Tribune's Class 5A Most Valuable Player.
