Tyler Skidmore stood smack-dab in the middle of the field at Fremont High School.

The Roy High School quarterback awaited the shotgun snap, his Royals trailing 5A rival Fremont 12-7 with just seconds remaining on the clock.

Skidmore cradles the snap, drops back and surveys the field, seeing nothing but receivers streaking for the end zone. Back to his own 47-yard line, Skidmore uncorks a Hail Mary.

The pass reaches its descent at the 5-yard line where a Fremont defender tips the ball.

And there was wideout Justin Weaver, who reached out and grabbed the football that landed timely into his arms.

The touchdown gave Roy a 13-12 road win over Fremont and more than a bit of bragging rights heading into next season.

Hail Mary, answered.
