Ephraim • The Utah Board of Regents named Deneece Huftalin as interim president of Salt Lake Community College Friday.

Her appointment is effective Jan. 1.

She also teaches education leadership at the University of Utah, where she earned a bachelor's degree as well as a doctorate in education, leadership and policy. Huftalin also holds a master's degree from the University of California, Los Angeles.
