This Sunday's broadcast of "Music and the Spoken Word" will have a surprise guest performing with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir: The popular six-member British singing group The King's Singers.
The group is performing Saturday night in Provo, at the Covey Center for the Arts. According to the Tribune's Catherine Reese Newton, the group has a friendly relationship withthe Mormon Tabernacle Choir over the last 20 years, and often pops in when their touring schedule brings them to Utah.
On Sunday, The King's Singers will be featured in three carols: "Veni, Veni, Emmanuel," "God Rest Ye Merry, Gentlemen" and the Sussex Carol.
The performance of the 30-minute televised program starts at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at the LDS Conference Center, 60 W. North Temple, Salt Lake City. It also will air on KSL Ch. 5 and on KSL 1160 AM/102.7 FM.
Admission is free, and you don't need a ticket. No children under 8 will be admitted. Attendees must be seated by 9:15 a.m. Free parking is available in the Conference Center's underground garage.
