A new art exhibit celebrating everyday women will be on everyday display — at least for the next seven months.

The LDS Church History Museum, 45 N. West Temple, opened an exhibit Friday titled "Practicing Charity: Everyday Daughters of God."

A news release says the downtown Salt Lake City show features three prominent Mormon artists — Lee Bennion, Brian Kershisnik and Kathy Peterson — whose works honor women and highlight the joys of life's small moments.

"These paintings depict the divine nature of women while simultaneously celebrating the importance of their everyday lives," curator Laura Hurtado said on the church's website. "Practicing charity is something we as women of God do every day. We practice our religion as one practices a musical instrument. We practice being friends, neighbors and Christians."

The exhibit also boasts interactive elements for kids.
