Police warn that when it comes to navigating street traffic and Saturday's Salt Lake City Marathon, you may have to crawl before you can watch the run.

Extensive road closures are planned along the marathon route Saturday morning, with 208 police officers being stationed at 197 traffic-control posts. While SLCPD will strive to accommodate motorists and residents when possible, both should expect the marathon-related events to delay trips through affected areas.

The starting times for various events range from 6 a.m. for the Bike Tour and 6:10 a.m. for the Handcycle and Wheelchair events to 7 a.m. for both the full and half marathon races. The 5K race begins at 7:10 a.m. and the Kids 5K starts at 10:45 a.m.
