Concerning "Hatch sorry for political comments at Memorial Day event":

Sen. Orrin Hatch now says he's sorry for going political in his comments at a Memorial Day ceremony. Oops. He "certainly didn't mean to be political." Bullwhacky!

Since becoming a senator in 1977, he's been giving Memorial Day speeches — that's 37 years — he knows better. Being a good Mormon, he no doubt knows the saying that it's easier to repent afterward. And, anyway, he says, "there was a lot of applause," so, being a good politician, I guess he just got caught up in crowd-pleasing.

Please! Hatch knows better, and he's insulting us to pretend otherwise. And if after all these years he now says he really didn't mean to or didn't know what he was saying, well, he should just quit before he really becomes an embarrassment.
