The Salt Lake Tribune is truly doomed to failure as I see it. I have been a subscriber for more than 35 years and I am in the process of canceling my subscription. I refuse to put up with horrible customer service any longer.

I moved to St. George exactly three years ago after retiring. My paper delivery here has been the worst I have ever seen. Most days it doesn't arrive until after 10 a.m. Many days it doesn't arrive at all. There are no local contacts, so subscribers must call the toll-free number and try to communicate with offshore customer service reps who are sadly useless at best.

It appears to me that the Trib's business plan does not include putting the paper in the hands of its customers in a timely manner. It's a pretty pathetic business model that ignores its customers.

I tried to support the paper by subscribing, but now I will read the free online edition until the paper's inevitable demise. Too bad the circulation department is not nearly as good as the rest of the paper and its staff.
