A British motorcyclist who was vacationing in Utah died Wednesday when he turned onto a Wasatch County road, traveling on the wrong side of the street, and collided head-on with a pickup.

The victim was one of two motorcyclists from England who turned west onto State Road 35 near Wolf Creek Pass about 12:30 p.m., Utah Highway Patrol reported. They both turned into the eastbound lane, where a Ford F250 was traveling toward them, troopers said. The first motorcyclist swerved out of the way, but the second collided with the truck. The motorcyclist and the truck went down a steep, 100-foot embankment, troopers said. The motorcyclist died at the scene; the driver of the truck suffered serious injuries and was flown to a hospital.

Troopers did not release the victim's name Wednesday night.
