An order from the U.S. 10th Circuit Court of Appeals at 10:10 a.m. Monday opened the door for same-sex marriages to begin again in Utah.

Salt Lake County began issuing licenses once the order was received. The first couple to wed in Salt Lake County was Kelli Frame and Suzanne Marelius.

Jason McDermaid and Zachary Smallwood arrived at the Salt Lake County clerk's office a short time later and became the second same-sex couple to marry in the county Monday.

Here are some of the other same-sex couples who decided to celebrate Monday by getting married.

There was Julie Maughan and Jillian Dallon, who already are married in California but wanted to get married in their home state of Utah.

Ariel Ulloa Gonzalez and Gregory Enke felt like they were left out when they didn't get a chance to get married in December. They jumped at the chance Monday.

Laekin Rogers and Yolanda Pascua planned to fly to Portland, Ore., this weekend to get married. But when it became legal again in Utah, they decided to push up their wedding day.

Leslie McWilliams and Sheri Ault said that after about 18 years in a relationship, Monday's wedding just makes official what they've been living for nearly two decades.

Alisha Matthews and Lynda Coleman said they didn't want to wait after missing the chance to marry in December during the brief window when same-sex marriage was legal in Utah.
