The man walked to the returns desk at the KMart at 2705 E 2100 S about 9 p.m., jumped over the counter and held a knife to the clerk's side, demanding money.

After taking cash from the till, he fled out the front door and took off east in the parking lot.

He was described as black, in his 40s, between 5 feet 11 inches or 6 feet tall, with a tan jacket and tan workboots and a knit cap or balaclava pulled down to his moustache.

Authorities also say he speaks with an undetermined foreign accent.
