Posted: 1:44 PM- The Utah Jazz have picked up the option on Ronnie Brewer's contract for the 2008-09 season, according to vice president of basketball operations Kevin O'Connor.

Coach Jerry Sloan said after the Jazz's 102-81 win in their final preseason game Tuesday night that Brewer will be the Jazz's starting shooting guard in the season-opener at Golden State on Oct. 30.
The option year on Brewer's contract is worth $2.717 million.
