As a prisoner of Questar Gas Co., I shiver every time I hear they want to drag more money out of my poor old frayed wallet.

Last month, the company touted how great its 2008 earnings forecast will be ("Questar raises earnings forecast," Tribune, April 30). Its first-quarter net income grew 23 percent over a year ago.

Nine days later, Questar wants a $22.2 million rate increase, and both the Committee of Consumer Services and the Division of Public Utilities are questioning this increase ("Questar's rate plea disputed," Tribune, May 9).

I hope the regulators look very carefully at Questar's numbers. Save me some bucks so I can at least buy a new wallet.
