Salt Lake City police are asking for the public's help to track a Tahoe, trailer and ATV related to the disappearance of three men, who are presumed to be in danger.
Investigators believe Danny Gallegos, Braden Emerson and Levi Collins were driving a white Chevy Tahoe that was pulling a silver dual-axle trailer loaded with a green four-seat Arctic Cat. They would have been driving it between 1 p.m. Saturday and 8:45 a.m. Sunday but on Monday morning, officers found the Tahoe abandoned on the west side of Salt Lake City, with a dog and a significant amount of blood inside it, according to a police news release.
Police are asking anyone who may have seen the Tahoe, trailer and ATV during that time frame to come forward. Anyone with information can call the department at 801-799-3000. People can also text tips anonymously to 274637 with the keyword TIPSLCPD and any relevant information, with the case number #14-192695.
"Ultimately, everyone wants to find these people safe and sound," said Detective Dennis McGowan, pointing out that these cases are harder to resolve as more time goes by.
Investigators have submitted the blood from the vehicle for analysis, McGowan said.
Animal control officers were the first ones to find the Tahoe at 1800 W. 1500 South, in a secluded area near the Jordan River. The dog was not hurt, but when they noticed a significant amount of blood in the Tahoe, the animal control officers called police.
Homicide detectives connected the three men to the vehicle but have been unable to find them.
The missing men are:
• Danny Kiko Gallegos, 35, Latino, 5-foot-7, 155 pounds, black hair, hazel eyes.
• Braden Parker Emerson, 23, white, 6-foot-2, 195 pounds, brown hair, brown eyes.
• Levi Joseph Collins, 34, white, 5-foot-6, 210, blond hair and brown eyes.
