Challis, Idaho • Four men were killed on Friday in a plane crash near Challis, Idaho.

The Post Register reports a search and rescue team on Saturday recovered the remains of the victims. They were identified as Andrew D. Tyson, Russell T. "Rusty" Cheney, and Aaron J. "A.J." Linnell from Idaho and John H. Short from Utah.

The Custer County Sheriff's Office says wreckage of a single-engine Cessna, owned by Short, was discovered at the Loon Creek airstrip Friday afternoon.

Authorities say the plane crashed and then caught on fire. The fuselage of the plane was burned away, and all that remained was the tail section and the wings.

The cause of the crash isn't known. The Federal Aviation Administration is investigating.
