As has been anticipated for quite awhile, BYU's football game at San Jose State will be played on a Friday night, rather than a Saturday.

The Mountain West Conference, to which SJSU belongs, released its Friday night television package for the 2015 season on Wednesday.

The release says that San Jose State will host the Cougars on Friday, Nov. 6, at 9:30 p.m. MT at 30,000-seat Spartan Stadium. The game will be televised by the CBS Sports Network.

BYU acknowledged the switch to Friday via its @BYUCougars account on Twitter shortly after the MWC announcement.

Of course, a BYU football poster printed last month has shown the San Jose State game, as well as the Connecticut and Cincinnati games in October, as being scheduled for Friday nights. The Cougars will host the Huskies on Oct. 2 and the Bearcats on Oct. 16.

As for San Jose State, the Cougars lost 20-14 to the Spartans in November of 2012 at Spartan Stadium. The crowd that night was about two-thirds BYU fans, if I remember correctly, but BYU fell behind early and a Riley Nelson-led comeback fell short.

San Jose State will return November's game in 2017 (Oct. 28) at LaVell Edwards Stadium.

Season tickets for 2015 go on sale to the general public on Friday, May 1. Go to byutickets.com to purchase those.
