Two men were killed Thursday morning in a head-on collision on Highway 6 in Carbon County, just south of the town of Wellington.

According to the Utah Highway Patrol, Calvin J. Sutherland was driving west at 5:06 a.m. when his Nissan crossed two lanes and collided with an eastbound SUV being driven by Michael Jensen.

Both Sutherland, 32, of Draper, and Jensen, 51, of Wellington, were wearing seat belts, UHP says. There were no other occupants in either car.

Prior to the crash, a semi-truck driver had called authorities to report erratic driving by Sutherland when his car was just west of Interstate 70, the highway patrol says.

The highway was closed for several hours while wreckage was cleared from the scene.
