Maintenance costs prompt fee increase at 2 of Utah's national parks

Provo • Visitors are going to pay $5 more for entrance into Bryce Canyon National Park and Zion National Park under a new fee structure starting July 1.

The Daily Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1KknMML) maintenance and improvement costs are prompting the fee increase, which also means people will spend a dollar more for entrance to Cedar Breaks National Monument.

Bryce Canyon Superintendent Lisa Eckert says all funds raised through the increases must go directly toward visitor services. Past projects have included rehabilitating trails, establishing exhibits at visitor centers and improving infrastructure.
