St. George • A 32-year-old science teacher is facing charges in a child porn case.

The Spectrum reports that Chad Ryan Huntsman was charged last week in 5th District Court with 10 counts of second-degree felony sexual exploitation of a minor and two counts of first-degree felony aggravated sexual abuse of a minor.

He was released on a $100,000 bond.

An initial court appearance is set for Sept. 22.

Dropbox Inc. notified the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that a user may be downloading illegal material. Cedar City Police detectives tracked the IP addresses to Huntsman's phone and a computer at Diamond Ranch Academy in Hurricane, where he taught.

Investigators found hundreds of photos on the phone.

An academy spokesman says ethics violations could result in immediate termination. He said while disturbing that Huntsman may have accessed the material on school computers, his arrest was unrelated to students.
