Violinist Gerald Elias says he's "celebrating Thanksgiving by expressing gratitude for the incredible planet we live on." To that end, he and pianist Vedrana Subotic will play "perhaps the most joyful" sonatas of Beethoven, Mozart and Schubert in a recital to benefit Citizens' Climate Lobby, a nonpartisan, grass-roots organization that advocates for climate-change legislation. Its signature policy initiative is the carbon fee and dividend. CCL's Salt Lake chapter is one of more than 300 in more than a dozen nations, Elias says. "Citizens' Climate Lobby volunteers pride themselves in being for something rather than against things," a statement on its website, citizensclimatelobby.org/, says.
