The Used, the post-hardcore rock band from Orem, is marking its 15th anniversary next year with a live album and an unusual tour plan.

The band announced today that it would go on tour starting April 5 in Seattle. The plan is to visit 16 cities, playing two nights in each — playing the entirety of its 2002 self-titled debut album the first night, and performing all of its 2004 album "In Love and Death" the second night.

The second stop on the tour takes place at In the Venue, 219 S. 600 West, Salt Lake City, on Friday and Saturday, April 8 and 9.

The new album, "The Used: Live and Acoustic at The Palace," will be released April 1. The album and companion DVD were recorded in October at The Palace Theatre in Los Angeles, with the band performing acoustic versions of its hits — backed by a string quartet, a harpist, a pianist, a percussionist and a gospel trio.

"I think we really captured the night perfectly and listening back to the mixes it reminded me how music can allow us to be children once again and once you open yourself up to that emotion it's like a virus, it's contagious," lead singer Bert McCracken said in a statement.

Tickets for the In the Venue shows are $30 per show in advance, $34 on the day of the show — and $50 for both shows. Tickets go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at Smith's Tix. (Click here for the April 8 show, and here for the April 9 show.) Online buyers will get a digital copy of the live album.
