East High's Garek Bielaczyc led a group of Utah cross country runners turning in impressive performances at the 37th annual Foot Locker Cross Country Championships West Regional Saturday at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut, Calif.

Bielaczyc, a senior and two-time qualifier for the Foot Locker Nationals, captured the boys title with a time of 15:22.

Weber High junior Talon Hull placed third while Lehi's Connor Arnell captured ninth. Both qualified for the nationals with their result.

Utah high school girls also did well in the meet.

Provo's Kate Hunter finished one second behind winner Annie Hill of Kalispell, Mont., with a time of 18:14. Olivia Hoj of Olympus finished third while Weber High's McKenna Lee captured ninth to qualify for the nationals.

The six Utah runners qualified to compete against runners from the Northeast, South and West Regional meets in the Foot Locker Cross Country Championships National Finals Saturday at Morley Field at San Diego's Balboa Park.
