The Jazz are bringing D-League basketball back to Utah, according to a report.
The http://dleaguedigest.com/2016/04/03/utah-jazz-move-idaho-stampede-salt-lake-city/";>D-League Digest, citing sources, says the NBA franchise will move its D-League affiliate from Boise, Idaho, to Salt Lake City next season. According to the report, the team could be renamed the Utah Stars, an homage to the ABA squad that brought the city its only professional basketball championship.
The Jazz-owned Utah Flash played in Orem for four years before folding. But with an eye on developing NBA talent, the Jazz purchased the Stampede last year, allowing the team control of player personnel and coaching.
The NBA hopes to one day have one D-League team for each of the 30 major league franchises.
